    Good morning, friends!

The novelty of back-to-school is wearing off: The drop-off and pick-up lines are familiar by now, the playground is well tread ground and educators are getting an idea of the kids in front of them.

The students who left their classrooms in March 2020 are not the same as the students returning in August and September 2021. A lot of them are excited to be back in-person after a year slogging through virtual lessons, but with that excitement comes anxiety, too. Look out for a story from me about how schools and mental health experts are managing that anxiety in kids very soon.
