    Oakland University, faculty reach contract agreement to end strike

    Oakland University and its faculty union reached a contract agreement at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, ending a two-day strike at the start of the year.

    Details of the agreement were not disclosed.

    The union posted news of the agreement on its website: “We are pleased to announce that as of 12:20 am on Saturday, September 4th, 2021, the two sides have reached an agreement at the table. Accordingly, the Bargaining Team is calling an end to the work stoppage effective immediately. Saturday classes will be held as scheduled. Faculty are encouraged to reach out to their students as soon as possible.”

    The union and the university sent a joint message to the campus about 6:30 a.m. Saturday. It said they were ready to work together.
