    Severe thunderstorm warnings in effect for much of southeast Michigan

    Storm warnings have been issued for several counties in southeastern Michigan.

    The National Weather Service issued thunderstorm warnings for Macomb, Washtenaw, St. Clair, Sanilac and Lenawee counties.

    A flood warning was issued for Livingston County until Wednesday at 2 p.m.

    Also, a thunderstorm watch was issued for Oakland, Livingston, Lapeer and Genesee counties until Sunday at 8 p.m., according to the weather service.

    The thunderstorm warning for Sanilac was issued until 7:30 p.m., and for Washtenaw until 8:15 p.m.

    The thunderstorm warning for Macomb, Lenawee and St. Clair counties is until 8 p.m.

    In Metro Detroit, showers and thunderstorms are likely before midnight, lasting into the wee hours of Monday, said the weather service.

    Hail is also possible as a cold front moves into the area, and the storms move from west to east, according to the weather service.

    The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings several countiesĀ in southeast Michigan.

    A warning is in effect for Washtenaw County until 8:15 p.m. Severe storms were located near Chelsea and Manchester and Clinton, moving east at 40 mph.

    60 mph wind gusts were expected, the weather service said.
