    Taylor now 1 game from elimination

    WILLIAMSPORT, Pa.— It was not the start Taylor North wanted as Honolulu scored a run in each of the first and second innings of the semifinal of the Hank Aaron bracket of the 2021 Little League World Series.

    After the difficult opening, Taylor North settled in to posted back-to-back scoreless innings. Max LaForest made a lunging catch at first and Ethan Van Belle locked in to record a strikeout to end the inning.

    MONDAY’S GAME:Taylor North survives rain delay, early deficit to beat Texas

    TAYLOR’S OPENER:Van Belle rings up Florida, 8-0, in Little League World Series

    The defense kept Taylor North within striking distance the entire game, but the offense just couldn’t figure out ace Ryan Keanu, who picked his second win of the tournament with a 2-0 victory over Taylor North. 

    With the loss, Michigan’s representative drops into the elimination bracket for a rematch against Texas’ squad, Wylie Little League of Abilene. Michigan beat Texas, 6-5, on Monday in a game plagued by weather delays. The elimination game is scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday (ESPN).
